As a subscriber, what do I get on ForeignAffairs.com?

  • Instant access to all content including the current issue, daily Web-exclusive content, and the Foreign Affairs archive.
  • Subscription management:
    • Purchase PDFs of Foreign Affairs articles in their original print layout, only 99¢
    • Change your mailing address or e-mail address
    • View your subscription status and expire issue
    • Renew
    • Give a gift
    • Report a missing issue

How do I register for subscriber access to ForeignAffairs.com?

  • Click on "Register" located on the upper right-hand corner at ForeignAffairs.com
  • Go to the section that says, "Activate Subscriber Access."
  • Enter your last name and your account number, which is the 16 or 18-digit number located directly above your name on your mailing label. Click "Submit."
  • Enter your e-mail address and choose a password. Click "Continue."
  • Registration is now complete and you can access the current issue, archives, and your account.

How do I find my account number?

Your 16 or 18 digit account number is located directly above your name and address on your mailing label. If you are unable to locate your account number, please Contact Customer Service, and provide us with your full name and address.

I just subscribed recently. Why can’t I register?

If you subscribed through an offline promotion (an insert card or invitation in the mail), it may take up to three weeks for our customer service department to process your order. After that time, you can go online to register for access. If you continue to experience problems after three weeks, please Registration Error, and include your name and mailing address.

What do I do if I forget my password or e-mail address?

  • If you forget your password, you can request a new one here .
  • If you are registered user and forget your e-mail address, please e-mail our Customer Service department and provide your full name and address. One of our customer service representatives will provide you with the e-mail information you have on record.

How do I change my address? E-mail?

  • First LOGIN then go to MY ACCOUNT (located on the upper right-hand corner of any page).
  • Once in MY ACCOUNT, click on the EDIT tab.
  • When you have finished editing your information click the button labeled "Save Changes."
  • Your account information should now reflect the changes you entered.
  • Please note: changes of mailing address may take 4-6 weeks to process.


Why don't I have access to the entire site?

  • Subscribers are eligible for access to all print and Web content including the Foreign Affairs archive. To activate your access, please log in or register for your online account.
  • Non-subscribers are eligible for access to Web content and select articles from the print magazine. If you are not a subscriber, you can get access to this content by registering for online access to ForeignAffairs.com. Registered users are also eligible to comment in the Discussion forums.

How do I access the PDF download of the article that I purchased?

  • Log in to ForeignAffairs.com
  • Click on "My Account". Under the “Digital Reprints” tab, the article(s) that you purchased will be available for you to download. If your Web browser is configured for online viewing of PDFs, simply clicking on the article title will display it.
  • If the article is not appearing in your browser (and you are a Windows user), go back to the "Digital Reprints" page, right-click on the article title, and select "Save Link As." You will be prompted to name the file (you can use the name that is provided) and choose the location on your computer where you would like the article to be stored. Select a location and click "Save." You should now be able to open the PDF with Adobe Acrobat or any other program that reads PDF files.
  • Purchased Foreign Affairs articles are only available in PDF format. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these files. The Reader is available free at www.adobe.com. Please follow their installation instructions and then return to the "My Account" page to download the article.

An article I wish to view is not available — what should I do?

Please make sure you are logged on as a subscriber or a registered user. If an article is not available online, Foreign Affairs does not hold copyright. Please check with your local library for access to previously published issues or contact William S. Hein & Co., Inc. to purchase a back issue  of the magazine.
