The author, a professor in University College, London, was at one time a member of the faculty of the University of Hong Kong. In this well-informed volume he reviews the rise of Chinese nationalism and the history of Russo-Japanese relations, concluding with a section on the present war and future prospects in the Pacific. Professor Keeton is sympathetic toward the Chinese point of view.
