Most of this volume comprises three articles originally published in The Saturday Evening Post, where they created quite a stir. The fourth chapter is new. Snow's object is to explain, but not necessarily reconcile, the Soviet and American positions. Above all, he insists that Russia needs a long period of peace in which to recuperate and carry forward her plans for industrialization.
