Mennis and Sauvant analyze the role of transnational business enterprises in regional integration, especially in Europe. Mansbach and others cover the activities of a wider range of "nonstate" entities (such as terrorist groups, labor organizations, individual newspapers). Both books use substantial and sometimes new data to support their interpretations; both are readable and more daring than most quantitative studies.
