Eulogies of Nehru's foreign policy by Indian scholars and diplomats which are, on the whole, self-serving and self-righteous. No one ever considers whether there was an alternative to Nehru's policy of nonalignment or even objectively weighs the advantages and disadvantages of that policy. The essays throw little light on foreign policy; what they do show is a remarkable unwillingness to raise fundamental questions.
