The magisterial recital continues: the central theme of this volume is Churchill's realization from the moment of Hitler's assumption of power that Germany would go to war and that Britain was in grave danger. The story is told largely through Churchill's words, though the author's own efforts are worthy of the subject. Important and engrossing.
