Since the initial spate of reportage on Nigeria's civil war subsided, the author of this study has evidently been gathering and assimilating a mass of hitherto unpublished material. The result is what now seems the definitive analysis of the international aspects of the Nigerian civil war, which is at the same time an engrossing narrative account of the internal conflict.
