More ambitious than the title suggests, this sequel to an earlier volume going to 1967, by a scholar who is close to the people and events he writes about, covers American, Soviet and Arab diplomacy as well as the politics and strategy of Israel. Most interesting is his detailed critique of Israeli "misperceptions" in the October War.
