Whereas Zuckerman narrates the vagaries of high policy in true scientific fashion, Jones pens his memoir of British operational intelligence with the flair of a fine fiction writer. All the excitement of wartime intelligence is here. His description of the birth of electronic warfare, from the Battle of Britain to the fall of Berlin, is a most valuable addition to the record. First rate.
