Both books agree that the world can feed itself if the task is given sufficient priority. Wortman and Cummings, officials of the Rockefeller Foundation, spell out the methods in considerable detail and cite a voluminous literature. The other book results from a most ingenious combination of several forecasting methods with the documented reaction of experts to possible events in the future.
