Robert Kennedy and His Times

Arthur M. Schlesinger, jr

Arthur Schlesinger is the nation's premier builder of literary shrines to heroic Presidents: Andrew Jackson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy. In this, his finest work, he deals with the education (in the broadest sense) of one who might, but for an assassin's bullet, have become the first truly radical American President. Conjecture, yes. But the conclusion follows from this loving, witty, and richly documented book.
