Ushered in by masses of detailed statistics and mathematical calculations, certain conclusions emerge clearly: total net economic benefits of the Central American Common Market have been substantial; the most important were foreign exchange savings and stimulus to investment. Economies of scale and employment effects have also been significant, though less so; structural transformation benefits were minimal.
