Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran
The late Shah's thoughts, as he spent the last period of his life in exile and isolation, make a bitter and pathetic testament. Americans who have made their judgment on him and his place in history are unlikely to change their minds through reading this self-serving and superficial book, but they can hardly feel complacent about their own country's actions in dealing with him and with Iran over the years.
