Beyond Security: Private Perceptions Among Arabs and Israelis; Political Perceptions of the Palestinians on the West Bank and Gaza Strip

With the idea of sounding out private as well as official opinion on both sides of the Arab-Israeli dispute, the International Peace Academy sent a mission to six Arab countries, Israel and the occupied areas. The result is honest reporting flavored with as much optimism and helpful suggestions as the findings will allow, maybe a little more. The main perceptions found on the West Bank and in Gaza by Ann Lesch, an American scholar versed in the history of Palestinian nationalism, flow from a consensus on self-determination in an independent state alongside Israel.
