Sino-Soviet Relations Since Mao: The Chairman's Legacy
A competent account of recent Sino-Soviet relations. The author provides a good deal of convincing evidence that the Chinese leaders are less than impressed with the return on their "Western investment," and that there will continue to be a long-term Chinese interest in improved relations with the Soviet Union. He is also convincing in his suggestion that serious developmental constraints in China will eventually force the Chinese to move back to a Soviet, perhaps a neo-Stalinist, pattern of development.
