With more than 120 members, the so-called Group of 77 has become a key factor in orchestrating the campaign of developing countries for a New International Economic Order. As a U.N. official, Mr. Sauvant cannot be expected to deal with the most interesting political questions that could be asked about these activities, but he has provided a valuable, detailed account of the history and organization of the Group.
