The Third World and U.S. Foreign Policy
As the books on the United States and the Third World pile up, this should be kept in mind as one of the best. The author is tough-minded and usually shows uncommonly good sense about what the policy problems really are. Some stretches are wordier than their content requires, but the long view and comprehensiveness are strengths.
