Destination Peace: Three Decades of Israeli Foreign Policy

Reviewed by John C. Campbell

Ambassador Rafael follows the example of Walter Eytan, Abba Eban and others in setting forth, through personal recollection, the record of the making and execution of Israel's foreign policies since independence. He held key posts in strategic places (at the United Nations and in the Foreign Ministry) during the major crises and wars, and he tells a great deal about both policies and personalities. An important book, thoroughly prepared and admirably well written.
