The Peace Brokers: Mediators in the Arab-Israeli Conflict, 1948-1979

Reviewed by John C. Campbell

Many books have described the Arab-Israeli conflict and the attempts to settle it by negotiation. This is a splendid example, with the added merit of looking pointedly at the mediation process involving third parties, principally the United States but also the United Nations and others. For the theory and practice of mediation the book is a rich resource.
