Defending China
Reviewed by Donald S. Zagoria
The principal value of this book lies in its carefully researched case studies of the Chinese use of force against Tibet (1950-51), Korea (1950-53), Taiwan (1954-55, 1958), India (1962), the Soviet Union (1969), Paracels (1974) and Vietnam (1979). His conclusion, as he says, is more "loose ends" than "neat synthesis."
