South Africa in Namibia: The Botha Strategy

Apparently completed about a year ago, this account of the Namibia conflict seems a bit dated; that is, the questions it asks and answers no longer have the same importance they had a year or so back. Excellent as a history, and still accurate in its assessment of South Africa's often ambivalent aims and strategy on Namibia, the study anatomizes a situation no one seems likely to heed while South Africa continues to destabilize its neighbors and apartheid itself remains under siege.
