Growing out of four workshops sponsored by the International Peace Academy, the ten essays here address the background of the present Central American crisis, with particular reference to U.S., Cuban and Nicaraguan activity and policies, and the guiding theme of conflict resolution. The Contadora process is favored; the diminution of the traditional U.S. hegemony that it would necessitate is the price of peace and stability in the area. An appendix contains the Contadora documents.
