A number of Nigerians and a few Americans take a contemporary look at what has become a largely historical artifact. While not happy with the North's rejection of a new order, they are generally very realistic about the reasons as well as about future prospects; and many call overwhelmingly for internal reform and South-South cooperation as the most feasible route to development for African countries.
