Two Lives, One Russia
Not the usual book by the usual Moscow correspondent. Daniloff's plot shifts the scene back and forth between his search for his ancestral heritage (his great-great-grandfather was a Russian officer involved in the Decembrist revolt of 1825) and his own harrowing experience when arrested as an alleged American spy in 1986. The book has appeal as a personal story and in the process tells a great deal about Russia and the Russians.
