East-West Conflict: Elite Perceptions And Political Options
American and German scholars present their views on how the East-West conflict was seen from the Soviet Union, the United States and the German Federal Republic as of 1986. Their book does not and cannot provide clear and definitive "perceptions," much less answers, given the nature of the subject. It is, however, a stimulating book, indicative of the need for new thinking in both America and Germany, if only to test that of the new Soviet leadership.
