The Latin American Narcotics Trade And U.S. National Security

With the decline of the Cold War, the new perceived threat to U.S. national security in the western hemisphere is the drug trade and its complex interconnections with guerrilla movements, economic problems and the military. Although uneven in quality and marred by frequent typographical errors, this anthology usefully surveys many of the issues that will be at the heart of U.S. relations with Latin America, particularly with the Andean nations, in the years to come.
