Poland Into The 1990s: Economy And Society In Transition

The authors of these essays are Polish academic economists, many of whom are furnishing advice to their government in its path-breaking attempt to make the transition from a command to a market economy. They see very clearly what the problems are, as well as the formidable obstacles to coping with them. This is not so much a book on the government's reform program itself, still in its early stages, as on the basic areas-the political system, the environment, energy, agriculture, investment, foreign trade and finance-which require change but may also limit it.
