The U.S.-South Korean Alliance: Time For A Change

Reviewed by Donald S. Zagoria

This volume on U.S. relations with South Korea does have a sharp focus-the merits of maintaining or removing U.S. military forces from Korea. It suffers from being overtaken by the rush of events in Korea and the world, and it fails to discuss in any coherent fashion the nature of U.S. interests in post-Cold War Asia and the type of strategy that would serve those interests, in Korea as well as elsewhere.
