Sherman Teichman

Sherman Teichman is the Executive Director of the Institute for Global Leadership at Tufts University. A lecturer in the arts and social sciences at Tufts since 1984, Professor Teichman was a former fellow and lecturer at the Institute of Politics, the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and a faculty member at Boston University and Emerson College.
Professor Teichman teaches Education for Public Inquiry and International Citizenship, a year-long, multidisciplinary course on a global political theme. Undergraduate and graduate students explore the yearly topic guided by a broad range of distinguished academics and practitioners. The 2009/10 topic is “South Asia: Conflict, Culture, Complexity, and Change.” The syllabus includes a wide array of books, journal articles, and online pieces like Foreign Affairs’ Roundtable, "What’s the Problem with Pakistan.”
The course holds a week long symposium in February which is open to the public.
