Yemen: Dancing on the Heads of Snakes
Yemen: Dancing on the Heads of Snakes, published by Yale University Press, will be released to E-readers by the end of February. The paperback version will also make an appearance this spring. Victoria Clark is a former Moscow bureau chief for the Observer. Two of her books have formerly been review by Foreign Affairs including Allies for Armageddon: The Rise of Christian Zionism. Her latest book comes during a time of swiftly growing interest in the political, cultural, and economic realities of Yemen. Clark, born in Yemen, responds to this attention with timely amalgamation of her own experiences from 2004 to 2009 meeting politicians, influential tribesmen, oil workers, jihadists and a host of what she considers to be ordinary Yemenis. Clark takes looks at the country's history and brings into context its current role in today's jihadist movements.
