Can anything -- international mediation, regional collaboration, decentralization, or constitutional negotiations -- save Iraq from a full-fledged civil war and the Bush administration from a foreign policy fiasco?
Most discussions of U.S. policy in Iraq assume that it should be informed by the lessons of Vietnam. But the conflict in Iraq today is a communal civil war, not a Maoist "people's war," and so those lessons are not valid. "Iraqization," in particular, is likely to make matters worse, not better.
The situation in Iraq is improving. With the right strategy, the United States will eventually be able to draw down troops without sacrificing stability.

u talking far from peac
american policy in iraq still writing plans far from the title went to. they still thinking of controlling the area and the poeple rather than build real democracy that give real stability for the regoin and the international relations,
medileast very accebtable for the democracy with real justics issues and proudness,
the issues now plans just for certine policy without any wisdom or hummanty.. this it will not work at all.. iraq is a very important part of the regoin since 3000 yrs .. we have to rethink completly deffirent way what the to do, world become smaller and all the mantalaity of thinking will change far from old politcis theories
Leave Iraqi
We should pack up and leave now that the Iraqis don't want us there as conquerors, let them continue with their own wars and with Iran! We had liberated the Kurds of their north but they instead are signing oil deals with China. We should just pass the ball to China, but I thin Iran will eventually take Iraq. There after, the rest of Arab states will be shitting in their pants including Kuwait which is also being stroke by China. What we should do is to develope our own already verified oil fields and other renewable resources and learn from many EU nations of how to manage their energy requirements!
I'm With Emenot
I think we should definitely pack up and leave Iraq. If we can continue to keep them over there, and stay in control of them from across the sea, there's no need to be over there. I really hope that Iran eventually takes Iraq, but I'm not sure if it will happen.
