Look to Pakistan for the Problems
While India and China are sure to butt heads form time to time we should not confuse cause and effect. Issues like border disputes and visas are not causes of security problems and competition. They are effects.
Where the problem lies is in Pakistan's decline, and possible collapse. China and Pakistan have balanced India in South Asia for some time and China, correctly seeing the problems facing its ally, has decided to preempt Indian aggression towards Pakistan.
If Pakistan collapses, chaos will ensue in South Asia.

The Indian Media and Indian ruling elite are doing what USA wants them to do and suddenly the interest of USA is to use India to get some concessions with regard to Iran and North Korea.Indian elite especially the military elite must take seriously the dichotomy between the two and work for a strong Air force and Missile deterrence which is INDEPENDENT of western powers.
