Foreign Affairs announced today that Kirk Brown has joined the magazine in the newly created role of regional sales manager for the Beltway. Starting immediately, Brown will manage accounts for the entire Washington, DC, metro area (District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland) focusing on defense, lobbying firms, luxury products, national and international energy, automotive, and beverage manufacturing.

With a value of just under $1.8 million, the average household net worth of Foreign Affairs’ readership is one of the highest among all magazine titles. Washington, DC, is a critical hub of this elite audience.Brown arrives from the defense-industry publishing company KMI Media Group where as publisher he managed eleven publications focused on the military and defense industry. As vice president of sales and marketing, he increased KMI’s sales by 20 percent during his tenure and brought in new clients such as Google, General Dynamics, and Accenture. Prior to his role at KMI, Brown spent more than a decade working in a variety of positions for Army Times Publishing Co., including serving as director of strategic accounts for Defense News. He was responsible for many high-end accounts during his tenure with Army Times, notably Boeing, ITT Defense, Finmeccanica, and Booz Allen Hamilton.
Brown is a graduate of Georgetown University and holds an MBA from George Washington University.
