Foreign Trade and Domestic Aid

By Charles R. Frank, Jr.

Brookings, 1977, 180 pp.

The best book on U.S. adjustment assistance, a thus far unsatisfactory effort of considerable importance. Succinct history and analysis of law and practice connected with imports is supplemented with a valuable account of somewhat more successful efforts in other fields. Standing on its own merits is an excellent original study of the limited impact of imports on jobs in 1963-71.
