Foreign Investments and the Management of Political Risk

By Dan Haendel

Westview Press, 1979, 206 pp.

The old art of political assessment by businessmen and bankers is having a post-Iranian renaissance in which it is sometimes mistaken for a science. This useful book-which predates the latest excitement-criticizes a number of different methods and approaches to the problem. It also summarizes the debate about the proper functions of OPIC (the Overseas Private Investment Corporation). There are lots of good questions and no very convincing answers.
