Egypt and the United States: The Formative Years
By Gail E. Meyer
Fairleigh Dickinson University Press, 1980, 230 pp.
Wide-ranging research in U.S.-Egyptian relations in the 1950s, including use of important oral history resources in the Dulles collection, makes this a work no student of the period should ignore. On those policies and episodes where the facts and motives are still obscure, and there are some significant ones, we shall have to await the availability of the basic documents in Washington, London and Cairo.
