Grave New World
By Michael Ledeen
Oxford, 1985, 256 pp.
A tirade against American leaders, including the press, for failing to confront the Soviet Union aggressively. The present moment is described as particularly dangerous because the Soviet Union may be on the brink of an internal convulsion with desperate international consequences. One of Ledeen's suggestions is that experienced European leaders be brought to the United States and "placed in positions of authority" over foreign policy.
