The American Approach to Foreign Policy: A Pragmatic Perspective
University Press of America, 1985, 102 pp.
Is American foreign policy dominated by rigid idealism and legalism, as George Kennan and other "realists" have long argued? Is it captive to special internal political and economic interests, as "revisionists" claim? Or, as Mr. Crabb argues, is pragmatism its most salient and, on balance, admirable characteristic? The book is an unpretentious and stimulating contribution to a never-ending debate.
