Asian Security, 1995-96

By The Research Institute for Peace and Security

Brassey's, 1995, 261 pp.

A solid if uninspiring volume, this work summarizes the domestic politics, economics, foreign relations, and military developments of the United States, Russia, China, and Japan. Chapters are also devoted to the Koreas, southern and Southeast Asia, and the southwest Pacific, to arms control and refugee issues, and to a segmented chronology. The book relies heavily on text and is noticeably short of tabular or graphic information. It is nonetheless a handy guide.
