Ecuador: Constitutions and Caudillos
By George I. Blanksten
University of California Press, 1951, 196 pp.
A valuable case study. Ecuador is well selected to illuminate the problems of "revolution, caudillismo, ineffective written constitutions" which also trouble other Latin American states. The author, formerly with the Coördinator of Latin American Affairs, is assistant professor of political science at Northwestern University.
