Soviet Espionage

By David J. Dallin

Yale University Press, 1955, 558 pp.

A sober and, for the subject, a very well documented description of the history of Soviet espionage, certainly the best book on the subject. In general the material is arranged chronologically and by country. In the author's view the Soviet intelligence system is probably larger than that of all other nations combined--though not always very effective.
