The United States in World Affairs, 1956
By Richard P. Stebbins
Harper (for the Council on Foreign Relations), 1957, 426 pp.
The latest of the Council's annual surveys of American foreign relations is timely and comprehensive. It is a balanced account of the development of international affairs in the year of the Bulganin-Khrushchev "peace" offensive, the nationalization of the Suez Canal Company, and the subsequent dual crisis in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Includes a useful chronology.
