In the sixth volume of this massive and major "History of Soviet Russia," Mr. Carr continues with his exploration of the years 1924-26. As the preceding volume dealt with economic developments in that period, so the present deals with domestic political and institutional affairs: the bitter struggle for power within the Party leadership and the maturing structure of the Soviet system of government.
