An interesting contribution to the study of Chinese developments. The author reviews the evolution of Chinese education since about 1860, showing the effect of the new nationalist teaching. He analyzes the textbooks commonly used to see how much nationalist propaganda there is in them, and expounds the theories of education current among the intelligentsia of the present day.
