The New Church and the New Germany

By Charles S. Macfarland
Macmillan, 1934
221 pp. $2.25

The author, formerly secretary of the Federal Council of the Churches of Christ in America, discusses the entire religious situation in Germany. The book is written with intimate knowledge of the special problem under review, though with rather less knowledge of the national scene as a whole. In addition to a discussion of the factional strife in the Evangelical Church, the author has something to say about the Concordat with the Papacy and about the anti-Jewish legislation.
