This volume, published under the auspices of the Royal Institute of International Affairs, aims to give the general reader a connected survey of the main lines of international relations in the past fifteen years. Needless to say it is well-informed and reliable. Covering so large a range, it sometimes seems a bit scrappy, but it will undoubtedly be a welcome handbook for the non-specialist who tries to follow world affairs.
