Le Souverain Captif

By André Tardieu
Flammarion, 1936
282 pp. $0.00

The first of a projected series of five volumes entitled "La Révolution à refaire," in which the former Premier attacks the distortions of the French parliamentary system. This volume presents the indictment, vigorously and with many illustrations. Succeeding ones will doubtless explain precisely the reforms which M. Tardieu has in mind and outline a system which he considers might be adapted to the French spirit at the same time that it functions more efficiently and with greater impartiality. The book is attracting considerable attention in France.
