In this concluding volume of his memoirs Lloyd George takes us from April 1918 to the Armistice. In addition to his recollections regarding operations on various fronts, he has included some general reflections on the conflict as a whole and in particular on the partition of functions between governments and soldiers. As in his previous volumes, he is very critical of many of the generals, particularly Haig, though his praise for Foch is full.
