I Visit the Soviets
I Visit the Soviets
By E. M. Delafield
Harper, 1937, 344 pp

An English novelist, author of the "Diary of a Provincial Lady," amusingly describes her reactions to a summer in Soviet Russia, which included three weeks on a collective farm in addition to the usual tourist trips. She strives at impartiality, but ghosts of the White Russians haunt her and she is irritated by the airy assumption of the Intourist guides that Russia has achieved Utopia.
