Waugh in Abyssinia

By Evelyn Waugh
Longmans, 1937
253 pp. $2.50

The author, a well-known novelist, went to Addis Ababa to report the first months of the war. He later returned in the autumn of 1936, the first non-Italian observer to be admitted to the country. Contemptuous of the old Ethiopia, he is very enthusiastic about Fascist efforts to Europeanize the country.
